Trankebar Heather and Forest Fruit tea in a white cup and saucer, a hedgehog tea cozy, celebrate your creativi Tea spoon holder and tea package

Trankebar Tea: a Black tea Herbal Infusion

There I was again wandering around World Market, only getting a refill of our Hot Cinnamon Sunset by Harney Tea. I had a birthday gift card in my pocket and tea in my sight…well you know what happened next. The tea that caught my eye this time was the brand Trankebar. This tea was chosen my normal scientific way-for the cute box. At closer inspection it is labeled as a black tea herbal infusion. Like Alice, I was curious and curiouser.

Downton Abbey or Denise?

My World Market had their tea section of mugs and teaware on full display. I assumed they knew I was coming in or it may have been due to the Downton Abbey movie release :). I was in heaven. So many choices of tea products. Serious Christmas hints were dropped there.

My tea related purchases

I managed to walk away with a “celebrate your creativi tea” teaspoon holder, a hedgehog tea cozy, a pumpkin Sticky Fingers Bakeries scone mix and the Trankebar Heather and Forest Fruit tea. As my birthday treat I received a 15% discount under the World Market loyalty plan.

Trankebar Heather and Forest Fruit Tea

The Trankebar Heather and Forest Fruit tea is in a cute cream and maroon box with an elephant face on it. A simple and classic design. It could be a great addition to a tea gift set. It is labeled as a black tea herbal infusion and there are 15 bags. They recommend to store the tea in a dark place in a tightly closed box or canister.

Time to put the kettle on

It has been a while since I have used my original porcelain teapot, only used for herbal teas, so I decided that was my choice this time as I was excited about using my Hedgehog cozy. First I checked that I had a measuring cup with ML on it. Per directions on the box 1 tea bag requires  200 ML so I wanted to double that for my teapot.

The tasters and tea review

I did a 5 minute brew on the Trankebar Heather and Forest Fruit Tea. I assembled my top notch tea testers of my husband, hot tea drinking daughter and myself. From the very first sip we all loved everything about this tea. The color, fruity smell and non over powering yummy fruity flavor. It’s a great tea and I will definitely drink it again.

Very nice. Are porcelain teapots always recommended for herbal teas or is that just a preference?

Thanks for keeping all of us in the loop on your fantastic findings.

    1. This tea was super yummy-I’m glad you liked reading about it. In regards to teapots-I use one porcelain teapot exclusively for my PG-Tips that I drink every day. I used the other porcelain teapot exclusively for herbal teas until my glass teapot came along so I usually use that. Then along came my green teapot and ahhhh—I think I have a teapot problem!! Personal preference depending on my mood 🙂

    1. Great question. It is all personal preference. I like the glass teapot for it’s aesthetics, being able to use all kinds of teas, to see the tea brew and being able to do blooming teas and so on. Porcelain teapots to me keeps tea hidden but I am able to keep it warm longer as I use a tea cozy with them. Usually when I am in more of a rush I use those. I have a past article on why I chose my glass teapot if you would like to check it out Choosing a Glass Teapot Thank you for your question 🙂
