Kitchen Kite glass teapot and cups set full of tea

My View on Kitchen Kite’s Glass Teapot Infuser and Cups

My tea journey has lead me down a fascinating path. Recently I was honored to be asked by Kitchen Kite if I would like to review their glass teapot set. Wow! As you know I only write about things I’ve tried and liked, so I let them know that. The owner agreed completely and only wanted honest feedback either way. After a few lovely email chats the Kitchen Kite glass teapot and cups were sent on their way to me.

The package arrived promptly. I was so excited and opened it up straight away.

Packaging

The packaging for this set was awesome. It held everything very snug and securely in place. It is super convenient to repack everything back into the box with this packaging if it is not intended to be used daily.

Directions

I read the instructions on the box thoroughly and went straight to a quick hand wash for everything so that I could start to use the teapot.

Directions on a Kitchen Kite glass teapot box
  • The glass teapot itself is the only thing dishwasher, stove top and microwave safe.
  • The glass cups and stainless steel elements of this set are not stove, microwave or dishwasher safe.
  • The stainless steel infuser can be cleaned with an abrasive pad for a deep clean.
  • Do not overfill the teapot.
  • Be careful of placement on the stove and to watch it
  • Do not leave brewed tea in the pot or it will eventually stain it (that happens with all teapots).
  • Remove the infuser once the tea is at the desired taste
  • There is a 90 day warranty

Kitchen Kite Teapot size and style

This 1000ml (approximately 34oz) glass teapot is really cute with a curved spout. It has a removable steel infuser and lid. It has a sealing ring that fits the teapot for the infuser and lid to fit into and it is also stainless steel. The glass and stainless steel produces a very stylish, sleek look that would compliment all kitchens. The Kitchen Kite name is on the teapot handle. On the bottom of the teapot and cups is their logo. I found neither one a distraction. Each stainless steel part is removable and hand washable. This clear glass teapot can accommodate loose, bagged or flowering tea.

Glass type-hand blown Borosilicate glass

A quick jump on the internet let me know borosilicate glass is glass that handles heat. It is more durable and has no chemicals. It is however still fragile should you drop it, smack it on something hard etc. The glass will still get hot.

Double walled glass Cups

This package comes with 4 double walled glass cups. Each cute, small cup can be filled with 80ml of tea (about ⅓ cup). They compliment the teapot perfectly.

Added bonus-the box came with 3 types of tea. Green tea, jasmine tea, and blooming tea.

The Kitchen Kite teapot test

Ways I used it

Kettle: I used the standard boil from my kettle and used the Kitchen Kite glass teapot as a traditional teapot with the tea inside the infuser. It worked wonderfully. It kept the tea lovely and warm. I used the Jasmine green tea provided for this brew. The glass teapot allowed me to enjoy watching the colors of the tea change during the brew. It was a delicious tea.

I also made the blooming tea with the kettle just without the infuser. It’s always so cool to watch a blooming tea.

Stove top: I used the glass teapot this time on my electric stove. Reading the directions on the box I only used the teapot to boil the water this time. When It boiled I removed it from the burner and then added the infuser that I had already been filled with the green tea provided, placed the lid on the teapot. I made sure not to put too much of the handle over the heat per the directions. The handle does get warm and I could see that it could get really hot if not used correctly so obviously would need to be used with caution and tested first. The glass teapot did as promised boil the water and made a yummy cup of tea.

Microwave: Only the teapot can be used in a microwave. This time I saved some of the above green tea in the refrigerator and put it in the pot the next day. This method also works well.

Dishwasher: Only the teapot is able to go in the dishwasher not the cups or stainless steel parts. The teapot came out sparkling clean. That was quick and easy.

Keep in mind the kitchen kite teapot is still glass and fragile. I usually baby my current glass teapot and wash it by hand but a dishwasher is very convenient.

Things I really like

  • I love the look of this stylish glass teapot.
  • The cups are very cute and compliment the teapot.
  • The non-drip spout is awesome! My husband gave me strange looks as I repeatedly did a pour, stop, pour, stop to test it.
  • The storage use of the box.
  • The fact that it stood up to everything it said it could do.
  • The note that came with the box was very personalized and reassuring to a consumer

Who do I think it will appeal to

The Kitchen Kite glass teapot is great for any tea lover. It can be used for special occasions or everyday use. It is perfect for tea and a conversation. The tea remains lovely and hot in the teapot when using and refilling the stylish small cups. It makes a great pot of tea for some alone time with a massive tea mug. I think this set is a perfect gift too. No matter how you use it-with this teapot set soon everyone will be inviting themselves over for tea.

That looks super nice. Do the double walled glass cups get too hot? Or just Warm? I love holding a warm cup of tea – so I don’t want it to be too insulated.

Definitely something for the Christmas list.

    1. The double walled glass cups get warm (how I like it also) but not hot. It is a really nice set.

  2. I have a glass teapot but I’ve never used it. I don’t think it is as versatile as yours as it’s not a name brand. That one sounds delightful!

    1. I would definitely say to give your current glass teapot a try. You will love it. It is great when you use tea leaves or bags that create a fun color. I’d love to hear if you decide to give it a go.
