3 wise rabbits and a mug of Rishi Masala Chai

Thank goodness I found my Rishi Masala Chai

As you know I have always been a super fan of all things chai. On a rainy day in Central Texas in deep cleaning mode I decided to tackle that uber famous store, otherwise known as my pantry. Luckily I found some Rishi Masala Chai concentrate that I had forgotten was in there. It was time to put the saucepan on.

I had picked up the Rishi Masala Chai at Natural Grocers after trying the Rishi Turmeric Ginger Chai ages ago and I did not put it with the teas! Why??? Anyway I did a quick glance at the expiration date and luckily I was still good to go. Whew!

How to make Chai Concentrate

Making a chai concentrate is so easy. I love my staple Tazo Chai that is made the same way. Shake the container, pour and mix equal parts of  concentrate and milk into a saucepan. According to the packaging a steamer can be used also. Get the mixture to just below a simmer (or 165 F ) I’m not that specific. Stir a few times during the heating process. Pour it into a mug or cup and enjoy.

Packaging

I love the look of the packaging browns and yellows-cute gift tea for the future. The packaging states this is all natural and micro brewed-just add milk. The tea concentrate is 32oz. Once the concentrate is opened keep it refrigerated and it is good for 1 week. It states the secrets to the lively chai is the craft brewing that brings out the flavors and aromatics from the spices and vanilla bean to create the traditional flavor that is infused with rich and malty black tea.

  • Organic cardamom

  • Organic black pepper
  • Organic clove
  • Organic evaporated cane juice
  • Organic black strap molasses
  • Organic lemon juice

Zyliss Milk Frother

As I now have my handy hand held Zyliss milk frother that I love so I used that at the end-but it is not needed for the process. The frother is easy and fun to use though. I put our chai in colorful mugs. There is nothing better to brighten a rainy day.

Thoughts

This is a super yummy chai. A bit more spice we feel than Tazo Chai-but not over spicy. My top reviewers, my husband, hot tea drinking daughter and myself all thought the Rishi Masala Chai concentrate was a hit. Now my Tazo and Rishi chai concentrates will now be standing side by side on the shelf. Yes-with the other teas.

Iced chai

This chai can also be made into iced chai. Just pour the concentrate over ice with equal parts milk.

Change in weather

Well we are in Central Texas and in a week the weather will probably change from heavy rain to beautiful sunny days, probably more rain then sun and in that time our hot (or iced) Rishi Masala Chai will be consumed again. Before the refrigeration time expires.

What’s your favorite chai?

Chai on a cold (or let’s be real chilly – it is Texas after all) is a great thing. Thanks for sharing.

I’m a big fan of Rishi teas. I have had their Iron Goddess oolong, Earl Grey, Sencha, and small Pu’erh tuo’s. Great quality teas in my opinion.
