I can see the light through the London Fog Latte

Oh my gosh guys-my latest tea journey has led me to a London Fog. A London what? Now I’m not saying I have a tea obsession but I stumbled on a tea group on Facebook and what could I do but join. I am hooked on their questions and recommendations. One particular discussion was about the London Fog Latte. I had never heard of this tea that many other tea drinkers raved about. It was time to hop back across the pond to check it out.

OK so my quick trip across the pond was to my local Starbucks drive-through.  I would not say I have frequent flier miles at Starbucks but I visit there quite a bit and they could possibly know my name. A non-fat Chai Latte has been my staple there for more years than I can remember but I have never even seen a London Fog Latte on their menu. Then again, I guess I’ve never looked. So my London Fog Latte was instantly ordered.

So what is a London Fog Latte? It’s pretty much an Earl Grey Latte. It is Earl Grey that is sweetened combined with steamed milk and vanilla syrup.

For many years I was not an Earl Grey fan-I know-gasp! The taste of my first Earl Grey was just like perfume and it was not for me. I do not remember the brand. Now I have come to love Earl Grey and own Earl Grey teas by many companies. The great thing about Earl Grey and so many teas is that all taste similar but never the same.

I assembled  my team of topnotch reviewers again-my husband, hot tea drinking daughter and myself.  OH WOW! The smell alone was heavenly. I cannot even tell you how much this tea is a hit. Such a treat.

I love Chai Lattes

Ok-so I must confess I felt guilty with my next Starbucks purchase as I skipped over my most beloved usual Chai Latte and went straight for the London Fog. Don’t worry Chai Latte, I will be back but may have to alternate you with London Fog.

Non hot tea drinking daughter

So shock of all shocks my non-hot tea drinking daughter took a sip of my London Fog and said “not bad”. I almost fell off of my chair-there is hope for her yet! Shhhhh- she can get a pass as there’s an iced version too.

Well if you’ve never tried a London Fog Latte I would highly recommend it. As you can tell, I am already hooked.
