A glass mug of Sunrise Tea by Shaka with a white bowl of tea sachets and a hang loose magnet on a blue floral background

It’s time to watch the Sunrise with Shaka Tea

Have you ever been impulsive? When I was younger I remember one night some friends and I said “let’s go to the coast and see the sunrise”. The closest coast is 3 hours away!  We packed up the car and off we went. It was so much fun watching that beautiful sunrise, with jeans rolled up and splashing in the ocean-I have loved seeing the sunrise at the coast ever since. When I found Sunrise, a tea by Shaka, I knew I had to try it.

Shaka Tea

I chose my very first Shaka tea called Blue Magic on an impulse buy. I used my scientific method to choose the tea by liking the packaging. Shaka tea is from Hawaii, I however found it in my favorite store-World Market-where many an impulsive tea purchase has happened. Shaka’s Blue Magic tea changed color-I wondered what surprise Sunrise had in store.

Sunrise-Mamaki Tea Infusions

The packaging for Sunrise is similar to the Blue Magic but is bright orange. It’s description on the packaging says it’s an awaking tea blend inspired by the Hawaiian sunrise. It is a mamaki infusion

Mamaki

On the packaging it also discusses mamaki which is a plant that has been known to have health benefits for centuries. Mamaki is only found and grown in Hawaii. The packaging also explains that replanting mamaki is an act of conservation. Supporting agriculture as well as a habitat to the endangered pulelehua-the Kamehameha Butterfly. To learn more about this conservation please check out their website.

Taste Testers to the ready

I got my notch crew together again which consists of my husband, hot tea drinking daughter and myself. My hot tea drinking daughter did a 5 minute brew and loved it as a hot tea and then packed some on ice to go. That’s a yes for her. My husband did a 10 minute brew and thoroughly enjoyed it too-so a yes for him. I did the 15 minute brew as I like my tea a little stronger. Time for the test. Could I see myself drinking this at sunrise? Definitely or as it’s caffeine free- any time of day. A great taste. A truly yummy tea.

TILT

Things I learned today. Well I have learned something new from Shaka tea every time I have tried their tea and this is only my second purchase. To see the last time I learned about being the Aloha, check out my Blue Magic post. This time I found out that Shaka is the actual hand symbol that is associated with Hawaii which is the thumb and little finger out from a closed fist (also shown on their packaging). Thanks super cool, thanks Shaka tea for teaching me so much about Hawaii.

When I was in Hawaii I saw some fabulous Sunrises and I can not wait to see them again. When I go I will definitely pay a visit to Shaka tea.

Do you like to see the sunrise?
