As I continue my journey in my discovery of all things tea I have found some amazing people on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook that love tea as much as me. I wasn’t sure that was even possible! One of them is Snapdragon and Thistle. I was so excited when I received an Instagram message from them asking if I would like to review a tea. What is a tea lover to do? I replied to the Snapdragon and Thistle tea company with a resounding “Yes!!!!”
I’ll only write about it if I love it
I will only and always blog about things that I have tried and love. I passed this on to the tea business owner, she agreed whole heartedly, she only wanted open and honest feedback about her teas and I loved that. Then we excitedly chatted about our mutual love of tea and some ideas of what to try. The final decision was Snap Dragon and Thistle loose leaf green, Milk Oolong and Lemon Sunset
First things first-I jumped on their Website
Snapdragon and Thistle are a small online tea company based out of Seattle. Besides the beautiful pictures and descriptions here are some of the other things I liked about their website.
- My most favorite thing is the suggestion to purchase samples so you don’t get stuck with teas you do not like. I love this! How many times have you got stuck with a tea that wasn’t exactly what you thought it would be?
- Their .25 oz samplers start at $2 or you can go by the ounce. You can’t really go wrong either way.
- The website suggests how many cups the tea can do.
- They inform you that the green and oolong tea can be re-seeped.
- There are suggestions on how to drink the tea. With milk or without etc.
- The website indicates whether it’s caffeine free, organic. Most importantly fair trade.
- They have the cutest wedding favors
- The list continues. I was impressed so seriously-check it out.
The package arrived
I was so excited, it felt like Christmas- I could not wait to try the teas. The packages themselves were cute, simple and clean. The directions for each tea are on the back for novice and beyond. They would definitely be good for gifts as well as for yourself.
The Experts
I assembled my team of experts. Trust me if you want a variety of honest opinions this is where to go. My husband, my hot tea drinking daughter, and myself. We talked about nights we would all be home for the tea tests to begin.
The Tea Review
Tea #1 Snap Dragon and Thistle Loose Green Tea
This I love. I find some green teas are really strong, overpowering and really just taste like grass. Whereas my husband has been an avid green tea drinker for years and likes all kinds. This loose green tea was mild and smooth. We all loved the flavor. We would highly recommend this tea. I would definitely recommend it to a newbie green tea drinker, anyone liking a milder green tea, and according to my husband any green tea drinker would like this. We would definitely try it again.
Tea #2 Snap Dragon and Thistle Lemon Sunset
If I tell my husband there is any lemon flavor in tea that is the last thing he would like to drink as he says it tastes like Pine-sol. I on the other hand like the flavor and my youngest tea drinker is open to anything. So I didn’t tell him what we were trying when we tried Lemon Sunset. The number 1 fan of this tea now? My husband. We all loved the smell and look of this loose tea, we all especially loved the taste. It can also be made as an iced tea so the iced tea drinking can be included in this tea test.
Tea #3 Snap Dragon and Thistle Milk Oolong
For our third tea test we added another tea drinker in. This one is a friend of my non hot tea drinking teenager who stopped by. Oolong tea varies in flavor. Some I find kind of bitter that I need to add honey or something to sweeten it up. This Milk Oolong was not like that at all, it was definitely a good fit for me. It seemed kind of buttery and silky. A must have. We all enjoyed it.
With these tea tastings alone I know that I will look further into the teas that Snapdragon and Thistle create. To start off with I love Chai so I will try that, but seriously who is not curious about the Wimbledon Strawberries and Cream and Rosalind’s Tranquility blend which sound wonderful. Help me, I’m hooked! With the prices of samples who can go wrong?
So if you are a tea drinker or just branching into a world of tea then I believe this is a company you should check out.
Thank you Snapdragon and Thistle for contacting me. We love the teas and can’t wait to try more.
If you have tried one of Snapdragon and Thistle teas? Let me know your favorite. If you haven’t and purchase one let me know so I can add it to my list.
Will try this one and let you know my thoughts
