Please Bring Back the Sun – Hawaiian Islands Tea Company Pineapple Tea

It’s usually very sunny in central Texas so a rainy day is always so gloomy. It’s not usually just a light rain either but stormy rain that goes from heavy to light then light to heavy, a continual pattern that goes on and on and on. My dogs and rain? Ugh! On days like this I realize I MISS THE SUN!!! Oh wait-it was sunny and in the high 80’s yesterday so I shouldn’t moan too much. Anyway to cheer myself up I always need a cup of tea. On this gloomy day I need something tropical and  I have the perfect thing, Pineapple Waikiki by Hawaiian Islands Tea Company.

Discovering this tea.

My hot tea drinking daughter’s band had the opportunity to go to Hawaii and the honor of performing at Pearl Harbor. The strict instructions from her mother as she walked through security at the airport was:

“Don’t forget to find some tea!”

Picture mortified teenager walking away.

OK so maybe there were texts about band, their performance, her friends, beautiful beaches, loving Hawaii, the luau etc but let’s stick to important stuff, the tea.

She sent a picture of Hawaiian Island Tea company’s variety of teas. The choices in the picture were passion, mango and pineapple tea. I love pineapple, and pineapple and Hawaii where can I go wrong?

My thoughts on Pineapple Tea, Hawaiian Island Tea Company

I assembled my team of tea experts again for this tea test, my husband, hot tea drinking daughter and myself. I grabbed my glass teapot and put the kettle on.

We all loved the smell of this bagged tea before we brewed it. I thought the color would be on the light side but although started off really light but became a medium dark tea. We tried the tea in various ways, plain, with honey, with milk, in a teapot, single bag in a cup and iced tea. Obviously the strongest way for flavor and smell was plain but it was not an overpowering pineapple taste at all, it was mild and definitely fruity. My hot tea drinking daughter preferred it that way. I added milk after trying it plain, still flavorful and my way to drink it. We tried adding honey to one, umm we all were a no to that. My husband liked the iced-tea the most. Would I drink it again-yes. I would also be curious to try other flavors.

This tea is easily found; Amazon Prime is my favorite. Check it out if you are in the need of a quick tropical getaway or just a fun fruity day with friends.

If you have tried Hawaiian Tea which one is your favorite? Do you recommend any other tropical teas?
