Tea in a white tea cup and saucer with silver rim next to a fairy statue in a garden

There is Always Time for Tea with Berteas

You know I absolutely love tea samples. There is nothing better than having the chance to try a bunch of new teas I may not normally try without  buyer’s remorse. As my birthday was coming up I hit a few websites in search of some tea sample hints. One of these searches led me to the Berteas website and their $1 samples! You bet some of those teas were instantly added to my birthday list.

Decisions Decisions

I bounced around the Berteas website for quite a while on my birthday tea sample search. They offer such a variety of herbal, dessert, classic and iced teas it was so hard to choose a few for my list. In the end I added:

  • Apple Chai Green Tea
  • Earl Grey Lavender
  • Chocolate Covered Strawberry Darjeeling Tea
  • Aunt Sherry’s Cinnamon Bun Tea
  • Malted Millionaire Shortbread Black Tea.

Happy Birthday tea to me!

My awesome and observant team of top notch tea reviewers (my husband and daughters) made sure to include the teas by BerTeas with my other birthday surprises. My Berteas were all I had listed, 4 were samples but there was also a 1 ounce packet (the sample for that was sold out). The bigger packet just called out to be tried and as it’s always time for tea in our house we tried the Malted Millionaire Shortbread black tea.

Yum!

The smell of this chocolatey loose leaf black tea was yummy and decadent. I’ve had some chocolate teas before and some have not been a hit so I hoped the scent was not deceiving as I could not wait to try it.

Brewing

Boiling water was recommended for this tea with 1 tsp per 8oz of water. I like my tea a little stronger so added a tiny bit more than that per cup to my teapot. Steep for 5 mins.

It’s all about the Flavor

This tea did not disappoint at all. My top notch reviewers and I all loved it. It has a chocolate caramel flavor, not overly sweet at all. So absolutely enjoyable that I had a second cup. We added a touch of soy creamer (my latest obsession for some teas) super yummy.

Comunitea

On the Berteas website there is a section listed Comunitea. This is where I found out the company is giving back to its community and children in foster care in West Virginia. They have dedicated all sales of Dads Apple Dumpling, Aunt Sherry’s Cinnamon Bun and Aunt Patty’s Pumpkin Pie teas purchased during October and November will be donated to offset the cost of the annual West Virginia Christmas Party thrown for the children in foster care. Another order of one of these teas will be headed their way from me.
