My tea journey is so much fun. There’s something new in every flavor and brand of tea I try. I love the look, smell and taste of tea. My tea adventure has led me to try a large variety and I’m only just scratching the tea surface. I have tried bagged and loose leaf tea but I realized I have never tried a blooming tea. To rectify that situation I turned the kettle on to try TEABLOOM flowering tea.
My TeaBloom Glass Teapot
One of the reasons I chose my TeaBloom glass teapot was its flexibility to accommodate loose, bagged and blooming tea. My teapot even came with 2 blooming teas. My poor blooming tea was cast aside as I tried many other teas using the glass teapot instead. A friend told me recently she had purchased some blooming tea for a family member who loved them. I was slacking on the job- time to get on the ball and check out what all the fuss was about.
The packing
In short the description says:
- They are edible flowers and freshly picked loose leaf green tea combined.
- The teabloom slowly blossoms into a bouquet of flavor, aroma and visual delight.
- Each flower is in a sealed pouch to maintain freshness
TeaBloom’s packaging actually states that TeaBloom is founded on a simple idea to nourish the body soul and senses through exquisitely crafted tea products.
Sounds enticing I could not wait to try it!
The Tea
The TeaBloom teas that came with my tea pot were Eternal Love and Rising Spring
The packaging stated each flower could be steeped 3 times.
Ingredients in Eternal Love and Rising Spring Tea
- Green tea leaves
- Jasmine flower
- Marigold flower
- Globe amaranth flower
- Jasmine flavor
- Chrysanthemum flower
Green Tea temperature
I did not see the instructions about the tea as it was inside the included booklet that I thought was just an advertisement. As this is a green tea I used that setting on my Mirocco EK001 kettle which is 175°F.
It’s time to stop, smell and drink some TeaBloom flowering tea.
The process
According to the packaging their website has recipes and how-tos but I wanted to try the first flower without seeing these.
We placed the Eternal Love blooming tea in the glass teapot, poured the hot water (green tea temperature of 175°F) on it and hoped for the best.
The tea test
It was so cool to see the tea flower bloom. The end product was so beautiful.
So how was the tea? The tea was a yummy mild green tea. I was a little worried due to the flower that the smell would be strong and perfumy but the smell was mild also. A hit with all of my top tea reviewers, my husband (who loves green tea), hot tea drinking daughter and myself. We placed the flower aside to try for another seeping some other time.
Tea Experiment-Epic Fail
Dealing with tea is always an experiment. Usually it’s to compare brands to see which tea I like best. This tea adventure I tried, with the help of my hot tea drinking daughter to do a time lapse video of Rising Spring so I could show everyone what it looked like when the TeaBloom flower blooms. You know how sometimes your plan does not do what you really want it to? Well it was an epic fail on my part. I was so busy looking at what the tea was doing I forgot to put the lid on my tea pot! It still worked but without the lid I had obviously not done it correctly. I only had the 2 teas that came with the teapot so Amazon will need to help me out so I can try again.
When to have TeaBloom Blooming tea
TeaBloom blooming tea would be perfect for a special occasion, such as an anniversary, birthday or gift for someone, or can be for any day of the week. You would really enjoy it. I loved it and will definitely buy more.
Have you ever tried blooming tea?
