Tea Drops Sampler set with nutritional labeling on green and flowered tablecloth

Tea Drop Tea and the Thirst Project

My tea journey takes me to some fascinating places. My tea drinking daughter’s friend Chucky S gave me a recommendation to check out Tea Drops Tea. She had not tried the tea but thought it looked cool. My hot tea drinking daughter and her said that Tea Drops tea is like a tea bomb, similar to a bath bomb. I love tea and I love baths so this could be a match made in Heaven. I was definitely going to check it out. So how did this tea lead me to the Thirst Project?

Sampler Set-Buyers Remorse

First things first-Tea Drops Tea has a sampler set and I love those. Sampler sets have led me to a variety of teas that I love. DAVID’s TEA and Snap Dragon and Thistle are some of the tea companies that I have used that provide samples or sampler teas.  I don’t like having buyer’s remorse or being stuck with a tea so samples or sampler sets are always a good option for me. I checked for the sampler set on amazon and they were Prime-yay! The only thing that I was concerned about is the sampler set is sweetened tea, so we’ll see……

The box

I loved the box it came in. This set that could definitely be a gift.  As soon as my hot tea drinking daughter saw it she claimed the box for when we are done with the tea. On the side of the box it tells you how to brew the tea and that there will be some sediment (that you can drink) left in the bottom of your cup.

Inside the box

The smell is amazing when you open the box.  Each Tea Drops tea is an instant, organic pressed tea. They are shaped like hearts, stars, squares etc and they were individually wrapped. There was a small booklet with the description of the teas, caffeine level and nutritional information.

The teas inside the box were:

  • Rose Earl Grey
  • Sweet Peppermint
  • Citrus Ginger
  • Matcha Green Tea

My thoughts on the Sampler Box

As Chucky was the one interested in the tea I made sure she was included in this tasting with my top notch team of tea reviewers (my husband, my hot tea drinking daughter and myself).

I was surprised the teas effervesced when you put the tea in the water. The girls loved that effect.

I do not usually add sugar to tea so the Rose Earl Grey was a little sweet for me at first but I added some milk and drank it to the end, my husband thoroughly enjoyed it. The girls tried the Rose Earl Grey, Sweet Peppermint and Citrus Ginger and they were all a huge hit. Chucky said the Sweet Peppermint would be a great iced tea too. I really liked the sweetened Matcha tea. The day we did the tea tasting with Chucky we even had a non tea drinker with us (I know-how do these people keep getting in my house?) She tried the Citrus Ginger and loved it- I think there is a tea convert in our midst.

Would I buy it again

For an instant tea I would buy it again and recommend to anyone on the run as it is quick and easy.

I would also buy it as a gift especially for my teens and friends. It was such a huge hit. For fun we all read some tea leaves afterwards (there are websites for those definitions).

What I like about Tea Drops Tea

They have caffeinated, decaffeinated, herbal and sugar free tea. I can not wait to try more and I know that the teen girls would be fine with that too.

I also like that they are:

  • USDA organic
  • Fair Trade
  • Vegan
  • Gluten Free
  • Kosher
  • Woman Owned
  • They donate clean water

Thirst Project

A portion of the sales of Tea Drops Tea goes to the Thirst Project. The Thirst Project according to their website started when a group of then 19 year old college students decided to make a difference after hearing about the global water crisis.

Global Water Crisis

They are a youth water activism organization with a mission to provide wells, safe, clean drinking water and sanitation for the country of Swaziland. They outreach to schools to educate students about the global water crisis and challenge them to fundraise to make wells for this country. Anyone is able to contribute to the Thirst Project.

I really enjoyed Tea Drops Tea and can not explain what a great time the teens and I had with the sampler set. I loved reading about their journey and I’m glad I found the Thirst Project through something I love, tea. I hope you have time to try this tea and check their sites out.

Have you ever tried Tea Drops tea? Let me know what you think.

This does sound like a great gift idea for tea aficionados and the more casual tea drinkers. What fantastic packaging. And the charitable affiliation is just icing on the cake.

    What a great article!!!
