I became a fan of Harney Tea after the first time I discovered them at World Market. It always makes me laugh that they have one of my old family names. My husband absolutely LOVES their Hot Cinnamon Sunset tea so it is constantly purchased. On a recent re-purchase I came across their Peppermint Herbal tea. I love mint teas right now so I knew I had to get it. My final tea purchase I wasn’t too sure about but was very intrigued was Harney Teas Green Tea with Coconut.
Now I like coconut but I wasn’t sure about that flavor combination. I used my usual scientific method of tea buying-I liked the packaging. Harney tea tins are the coolest- this one’s pink packaging really appealed to me. On the tin Harney Tea describes this as Green Tea with Thai twist. I love Thai food so this had potential.
Character
The 20 sachets in the tin are characterized as a refreshing taste of Thailand with fragrant vanilla and coconut. That could have led to an overpowerful scent but when I opened the tin it wasn’t at all. The primary scent for me was the vanilla-my husband’s coconut. It was time to put the kettle on.

Brewing Directions
As always I discarded my old water into my plants and filled up my kettle again. As I was curious about the color of the tea I decided to brew it in my Teabloom glass teapot and just removed the infuser. I love the many ways to use this teapot for loose, bagged or blooming teas. I chose to add 2 tea sachets as I was making it for 3.
Harney Tea recommends the water temperature be 175 degrees. My Miroco kettle has a temperature setting-if yours does not it is getting the water to just a little less than boiling.
1 sachet can be used for 2 cups of tea
Infuse for 3 minutes and remove sachet
Our thoughts
I got my trusty crew of top notch tea reviewers-my husband, hot tea drinking daughter and myself to try this tea. It is delicious! It is a mild green tea but so flavorful. To me almost buttery. It was perfect to have on my patio as the weather is beautiful here right now. So here I go again, another Harney tea added to my tea collection.
Storage
Always store these teas tightly sealed and their tins are great for that. Also with no light, moisture or scent.
Have you ever tried any Harney Teas?
