Flowtea tea maker filled with tea

How to brew a good cup of tea at work with ease – Flowtea tea maker by Eigenart.

A while back my friend Mr. Tall asked me how he could make a decent cup of tea at the office with just the hot and cold water dispenser. He did not want to hold up the line to keep refilling his tea. A travel kettle seemed cumbersome-he needed help! I have a few options that I love to make tea at work, David’s Tea The Steeper being one of them, but my latest may truly be what he needs: Flowtea by Eigenart.

What exactly is Flowtea.

Flowtea is a double walled glass tea maker that has a removable steeper in it. It also has a screw cap to keep it closed. The Flowtea not only brews the tea but keeps it warm for quite a while with a neoprene cover that is like a tea cozy. The glass tea maker comes in a variety of patterns to fit a variety of personal preferences.

How to use Flowtea

Remove the infuser from the teamaker

Fill the infuser with your tea and put it back in the tea maker (it fits in the top).

Fill the tea maker with hot water through the infuser.

Brew the tea to the timing you prefer

Remove the infuser and pour yourself a yummy cup of tea.

The double wall tea maker keeps the tea warm. There is even a sleeve that can be used like a tea cozy to keep it from cooling for a while.

This is why I think it is invaluable for work

It is so easy to prepare. I pre-pack the tea in the infuser the night before, put it back in the tea maker, take it to work and just add water.

You can use a kettle to fill the tea maker but I have been testing it out with the hot and cold water dispenser at work; it’s just easier and faster and I really wanted to make sure this could work for Mr. Tall. The Flowtea container is double walled so your hand does not get scalded when you put the hot water in. It is easy to see how much water you are adding even with the designs, as it is glass. The lid and cozy keeps your second cup nice and warm. I do not usually carry it by the handle as the tea maker does not feel hot to the touch, just slightly warm. It’s about 350-400 ml/12 oz so it fills about 1-2 cups of tea (depending on the size of your cup). I use tea leaves when using my Flowtea but you would be able to use a tea bag in the infuser.

Additional notes

  • It is hand wash
  • Do not use it in the microwave
  • Do not put it in a dishwasher
  • It is glass, so it is breakable

Honey, lemon, milk and sugar?

So your yummy tea is ready and we are at the great debate on how to prepare your tea. I add milk when I want milky tea and I add it directly into the Flowtea tea maker. I would suggest lemon and honey be added to your tea cup if that is your preference.

Although I’m not sure that I will be using mine for anything other than tea, on the packaging it states that Flowtea can be used for hot or cold drinks. Listed are hot tea, iced tea, coffee, juice, smoothies, and shakes

This is amazing!! And just what I have been looking for. I work in an office that doesn’t let us bring in outside drinks (it’s a food company) so I have to make tea with what I can bring in and the hot water dispenser in the break room. This combination ( and my general lack of knowledge in the mystic tea arts) has kept me drinking from store bought tea bags.

This system will definitely give a chance to brew some loose tea that a very deer friend of mine recently gave me.

I can’t wait to try it out.

    Thanks so much

    1. There is nothing worse than a bleh cup of tea. I am so glad this can help you. Welcome to the loose tea club 🙂
