Well I jumped ahead and cracked open the Buddha Blend Tea that I picked up as a gift for my husband on a visit to Chicago. That is where I found my first DAVID’s TEA shop. So the true test was on. A new tea that I only grabbed for the name. Lets see how this goes.
As I like rituals I made sure I would be all prepared to make the tea. I brought out my stored teapot that is kept in a display cabinet in my kitchen and washed it. I brought out my loose tea strainer and washed it. These items have not used as often as my black tea teapot. I had a cup in place, filled up the kettle with new water (as I do for all tea) and turned it on. I was ready to go. I opened the container. Wow what an amazing smell! I could not wait to try it. Finally the big loose tea moment and I found…teabags. Wait-what? I could have saved myself 10 minutes and be drinking tea already!! I think that is called read the packaging.
How cute though. According to the Buddha Blend’s box they are sachets not tea bags so I’ll go with that. These sachets are adorable. I had to take a pic.
You can either put 1 sachet in a cup or single tea pot. As the tea was a gift for my husband I decided to be nice and make him a Buddha Blend tea too so I put mine in a pot. I filled my regular SIZE pot ¾ full to make 2 plus cups and waited. I did the allotted 2 minutes as the packaging directed (yet again something informative to read).
If you have never tried this tea it is truly a must. The smell is the one thing you can not get over. The packaging (as I’ve discovered has valuable information) states under a heaven can’t wait title that Buddha’s Blend is a delicately fruity, jasmine-scented white tea with a medium level of caffeine.
A fuller breakdown under ingredients on the package has: White tea, Green tea,Jasmine pearls, Hibiscus blossoms and natural and artificial flavoring
To sit down with a cup of this tea is just fabulous. There’s no other way to describe it. It kind of reminds me of being surrounded by peaches and oranges and pears in the grocery store. Just close your eyes as you start to drink it. It’s a awaking for your senses. I asked my husband how he would describe Buddha tea. He said fruity and could find no clear way to describe it either.
As you can tell I am a fan of Buddha’s Blend. My husband and one teenage daughter are also loving it so we are drinking it quite a bit. Our other daughter does not drink hot tea. The insanity of it all. Luckily she does drink iced-tea. It is still tea so I will take that as a win. Anyway I am saving any excess in the teapot and putting in containers in the fridge.for her and my husband who will also drink iced tea. That is a huge hit with them.
So Buddha’s Blend will definitely be on my reorder rotation and with an order of a few extra packets as gifts for friends. I know quite a few friends who would like to try it. Whether loose or sachets.
So if you get the chance to try Buddha’s Blend by DAVID’s TEA let me know how you would describe it.
